What is MH-CET?
Maharashtra Common Entrance Test or abbreviated as MH-CET is organized every year by the Directorate for Technical Education (DTE) which is followed by Common Admission Process (CAP). Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MH-CET) is a state-level test for admission to MBA/MMS courses in Maharashtra state affiliated universities. MH-CET is an online computer-based test that is conducted for over 300+ B-schools in Maharashtra state, it is considered to be a gateway for some renowned institutes of the state. Although MH-CET is not as challenging as Common Admission Test (CAT) that does not mean you should take it lightly, you need to prepare with utmost sincerity and dedication to get into top universities of the state.
Eligibility criteria for MH-CET
- Candidates appearing for MH-CET 2021 should hold Indian citizenship.
- Candidate must have passed a minimum three-year duration bachelor’s degree from any university which must be recognized by the University Grant Commission or Association of Indian Universities.
- If a candidate belongs to the general category then he/she must have a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent.
- If a candidate belongs to the backward category or is a person with disabilities having and is a resident of Maharashtra state only then he/she must have a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate or equivalent.
- As per the criteria for MH-CET 2021, there is no age limit for a candidate to appear.
- Candidates can also take admission in any of the Maharashtra B-School on the basis of their common admission test (CAT) score and national level MBA tests too.

Registration process
Registration for MH-CET is completely online which starts in the month of January from the first week itself and ends in the last week of February and the exam is held somewhere around the second week of March and by the end of March month, you can expect your results. Registration fees for Maharashtra state candidates are ₨ 800/- and for other state candidates outside Maharashtra is ₨ 1000/- (fees are subject to change).
Admission Process
From 2014 onwards only CET scores are taken into consideration for Maharashtra seats and other test scores are considered for All India seats. Group discussion and personal
interviews (GD-PI) rounds have been scrapped by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) for common admission process (CAP) but if you are applying on the basis of your CET score it is recommended preparing for GD-PI rounds.
Out of a total of 15, %, -35% of seats are given to all Indian candidates. Apart from this, All India candidates will also be offered seats on the basis of their common admission test (CAT) and CMAT which is organized on the national level. After the declaration of MH-CET results in the last week of march Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) conducts CAP which takes place in mid-May and ends in the first week of June. The merit list will be declared once the documents are verified and then the allotment of seats for various B-Schools across the state is done.
