ALL ABOUT SNAP

The Symbiosis National Aptitude Test is a mandatory exam one has to take in order to get admission in any of the 16 institutes providing MBA programs under Symbiosis International Deemed University, Pune that was established in the year 1971. In the last four years, the exam has transformed from paper and pen to a computer-based exam. The SNAP 2020 will be held on three different dates- 20th December 2020, 6th January 2021, and 9th January 2020 respectively from 11 AM to 12 PM. The SNAP 2020 will be conducted by Symbiosis International University Pune. The test will be held across 94 cities in India.

The candidates are expected to register within 25th September to 28th November
2020 on the official website of SNAP- www.snaptest.org The registration fee for
each SNAP exam is Rs 1750/- and the registration fee for each program under
each institute is Rs 1000/. The last date to pay the registration fee is 28th
November 2020. Admit cards can be downloaded from 5th December 2020. The
last day to download the admit card for the first exam is 20th December 2020, for
the second exam is 6th January 2021, and the third exam is 9th January 2021.
There will be a total of 60 questions and the allotted time is 60 minutes. The
number of questions and time has been reduced from 110 and 120 respectively
from the last year. The paper is divided into 3 sections: General English- Reading
Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, and Verbal Ability; Quantitative, Data
Interpretation and Data Sufficiency; Analytical and Logical Reasoning with allotted
questions of 15, 20, and 25 respectively. The special questions i.e. the non-MCQ
type has been scrapped off from the 2020 exam pattern. All the questions will
be multiple choices based. One mark will be granted for each correct answer and
¼ marks will be deducted for wrong answers. The SNAP exam has a lower
difficulty level than CAT and XAT but is equally difficult to that of NMAT and
CMAT.
The detailed syllabus for SNAP 2020
General English: sentence completion, analogies, active-passive voice, the odd one
out, vocabulary, fill in the blanks, jumbled paragraphs, contextual usage, one
word substitution, sentence correction.
Analytical and Logical reasoning: family tree, blood relation, coding-decoding,
analogy, syllogisms, clocks, calendars, critical reasoning, visual reasoning, seating
the arrangement, series, directions.
Quantitative, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency: algebra, geometry,
trigonometry, mensuration, number system, linear and quadratic equations,
arithmetic, progressions, surds and indices, inequalities, logarithm, simple and
compound interest, profit and loss, ratio and proportion, permutation and
combinations, set theory, series, tables, bar graphs, pie charts line graphs, mixed
graphs.
Candidates can appear for a maximum of two tests and the highest score among all
the tests will be considered for the final calculation. The final scores will not be
subject to any revaluation.

The eligibility criteria for SNAP include:
1. Graduation from any recognized University with at least 50% aggregate for
general category and 45% for SC/SC/PWD;
2. Final year students are eligible but their admission will be initiated after
submission of passing certificate;
3. International students/graduates are required to obtain a certificate of
equivalence from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
The candidates are supposed to report to the exam center at 9 AM for the
identification and carry the following documents:
1. SNAP 2020 admit card
2. Any document of ID and address proof- PAN card, Aadhar Card, Voter card,
etc.
The entry of electronic goods is strictly prohibited. Entry beyond 11 AM in the exam
hall will not be allowed. Candidates will not be given extra time i.e. they have to
complete their exam by 12 noon. Differently-abled people may be excused.

The final results will be announced on 22 nd January 2021 on the official website.
After the announcement of results, the institutes will start their admission
procedure by Group exercise (GE), personal interaction (PI), and writing ability test
(WAT). Each institute has different cut-offs for shortlisting the candidates. The
final selection will be done on the basis of the candidate’s performance in GE/PI
and WAT. The total cut off allotted for the entire selection procedure is 100 out of
which 50 is for SNAP exam, 10 for GE, 30 for PI, and 10 for WAT.
