Best way to improve your vocabulary for NMAT and IIFT

Ways to Improve your vocabulary for NAMT:
1. Knowing the basics:
If you have a better threshold over a topic, no doubt that your knowledge regarding
that topic, concept, or section will be any less. If you know the basics you can easily
grab a concept while preparing for the exam, but if you are not totally familiar with
the topic or don’t know the basics of the concepts, you can always refer to the school
level textbooks to get some clarity to your doubts. Don’t ever hesitate to go through
your school textbooks because you are a grown-up now because acquiring basics
will provide you with clear knowledge and information. If your basics will be not
clear then you won’t be able to score high marks even if you try practicing or
mugging up 100 times.

2. Reading always helps:
Reading helps a lot to those who are going to appear for the NMAT exam. It is very
important to construct the habit of reading newspapers, editorial sections if you are
appearing for the NMAT exam or any MBA entrance exams. Reading regularly helps
to improve the ability to grasp the information, increases the speed of reading, and
comprehending skills. Try making a habit of taking notes of the important points
while reading articles or passages.

3. Upgrade your vocabulary:
According to the previous year’s NMAT exams analysis, it is found that the most
weightage of vocabulary is in the English Language skills sections which prove that
you have to have a good vocabulary bank with you. To enhance your vocabulary you
can refer to many books like Word Power Made Easy, thesaurus, etc. You can make
flashcards of the list of names and keep it where you spend the maximum time so
you can have a look at those whenever you are around.

4. Practice:
As it is very commonly known that practice is the key to every success, well, it is
true. The more you practice the more you will be prepared for the exam. Try solving
mock test papers of NMAT previous years as well as present years. If you start
having doubts, reach out to your mentors for help.

5. Time management:
You will get only 28 minutes for 32 questions so the important element for the exam
must be time management for every candidate. Go through all your questions
thoroughly and choose questions that will consume minimum time and try
completing those first. This will help you save time through the whole process. Try
solving every question for 2-3minutes and keep 10-15 minutes in the end when
your paper is finished to revise and revisit those questions you had doubts about.
