THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND BEFORE APPEARING FOR AN INTERVIEW

Here are some important points that you should remember before appearing for
an interview

1. Reach on time – Punctuality defines your personality. It is very important to
appear on the scheduled time so that the interviewers do not have a
a negative image of you. Make sure you arrive at your destination 15-20
minutes before your appointment so that you can instill further confidence
and carry out any paperwork within the time you have.

2. Carry your documents – do not forget to carry any document or photograph
while going for an interview. You may need your personal documents even if
you were not informed about them earlier. It is your duty to carry your
belongings and not be reminded by someone else.

3. Proper dress code – it is very important to dress decently in formal attire
while going for an interview. It creates an impression on the panel that you
are particular about your physical appearance. Moreover, it does not make a
good image to appear in a shabby appearance before the people who are
going to work with you in the future.

4. Be polite – do not behave loudly or impolitely before the panel. Greet every
individual with proper manners and gestures. Do not make fun of the
interviewers. Keep a subtle smile on your face throughout the interview.

5. Proper body language – Try to sit straight and do not make unpleasant
gestures or movements so that the interviewers lose interest and knock
you off the hall. Make eye contact and nod frequently so that they can
assume that you are paying attention to them.

6. Know your resume – the panel might ask you questions related to what you
have written in your resume. Hence read your resume carefully otherwise
you may not be able to answer when asked about your resume and you may
appear dumb before the panel.

7. Be genuine – do not camouflage yourself into something you are not. The interviewers have been taking interviews for years and they can easily catch onto any lie or pranks you might be up to. Be genuine about yourself and don't exaggerate yourself.

8. Switch off your phone – cell phone ringing tends to annoy and irritate the
interviewers especially while in between an important conversation. Keep
your mobile phone on flight or silent mode or even you can switch off your
phone before entering the hall.

9. Do not give vague answers – people tend to give long and unrealistic
answers that are not appreciated by the interviewers. Try to give concise and
goal-oriented answers that can make you different from other candidates.

10. Be confident – confidence is an essential factor that is required everywhere.
If you are not confident with your answers and posture you may fumble in
front of the panel that might create a bad impression.

11. Give a positive response – you must not act rudely if the interviewer has made
an objection or rejected your viewpoint on a certain fact. Try to counter with
a positive and polite argument without hurting the sentiments of the
interviewer.

12. Be obliged - You must thank the interviewers for their meaningful time and
effort they have invested in you. That leaves a positive impact on you and
your upbringing.
